Rescuers dug for six hours in the 15 ft deep trench to rescue the first victim, and another hour and a half to recover the body of the second victim.  The two men were working on a sewer line on a residential construction project in an upscale neighbor hood outside Cleveland.  The soil conditions were described as wet and mucky.  A total of 60 responders, under the command of the Hudson, Ohio Fire Chief, were involved in the trench rescue operation.  Once hauled free, the first victim was airlifted to the hospital.
